Where did all the sunshine go?

While I'm sure the rest of the world is basking in glorious sunshine right now, England is in the middle of another typical British summer... Yes, it's cold, grey and rainy. :(

Since the weather here is so sucky, this seems as good a time as any to start putting the knitting back in my shop. :)

Find these and more at easternsky!

Ever wish you were a cat?

There are days when I think it would be really nice to be a cat. It must be so relaxing. Hmm, what shall I do today? I think I'll sleep for a bit. Maybe then I'll go eat something. Then I'll have another sleep. Fair enough there's the occasional licking of certain 'areas', but you know what? They really seem to enjoy that. So if you were a cat, it's probably not a downside.

Learning is mine!

Something I've been wanting to do for a while is to have an mp3 player on my blog so I can share some of the music I like. So today I learned about editing HTML code and flash players and things... and it seems to have actually worked!

I'll be changing around the playlists randomly in the hopes of introducing people to some interesting music they might enjoy. Today I've uploaded some nice guitary sounding music that I don't think will offend anyone... Apologies in advance if I include anything loud and scary, but don't worry, you can always skip them! ;)

I'd just like to say that these songs are provided here for the purpose of introducing people to new music in the hopes that they will like it and perhaps investigate the artist further. Please respect the artists' copyright!

Today's playlist includes:

1. Tori Amos - Girl
From the album "Little Earthquakes"

2. The Sleeping Years - Setting Fire to Sleepy Towns
From the album "We're Becoming Islands One by One"

3. Fire on Fire - Heavy D
From the album "The Orchard"

4. Alamo Race Track - Black Cat John Brown
From the album "Black Cat John Brown"

5. Cat Power - Sad, Sad Song
From the album "Speaking for Trees"

You can find the player on the right underneath the picks from my etsy shop. Just click on a title to start the song playing... Hope you enjoy them!

Coming Soon...

Just thought I'd post a quick preview of some earrings I made recently - a lot of silver went into these! I really like the double wrapped hoops, the outer layer of silver gives them a beautiful organic look, like tendrils on a vine... I've oxidized and then lightly brushed them to a beautiful deep gunmetal shine - I love the way brushing a piece highlights the outer details while leaving dark shadows underneath. The silver leaves were the perfect find to accent these hoops!

You will find these listed in my shop soon, along with many new items - I've got so much new jewellery to list the photography alone will take days! Stay tuned for more sneak previews...

Here Goes....

Well, I've finally taken the plunge! I've been meaning to start a blog for ages, but never quite seemed to find the time to start. (Yes, I am one of life's great procrastinators...) I guess the main purpose behind this blog is to showcase my work, give people some sneak previews of upcoming pieces, maybe even have some super-secret-mega-awesome sales from time to time... :) Yes, there will be cunningly concealed sales, and secret codes aplenty! However, given the strange and occasionally unfathomable workings of my brain, I will probably just end up posting a lot of quite random things instead. Maybe I will mean to tell you about the new range of jewellery I've been working on, but it could turn out that I've just woken up from another dream where I was attempting to decipher the secret subliminal frequencies hidden in birdsong via radio wavelength analysis when I was suddenly interrupted by a man with trousers made from dynamite...
Perhaps I had been eating cheese before bed... Who knows.

Anyway, here is my new blog, it will sometimes contain Things. What Things these may be, I cannot yet tell...
